PKL cancelled for 2020; likely to resume next year

The eight season of the Pro Kabaddi League has been postponed to 2021.

A statement issued by the organisers of the league said, “Under the current circumstances and keeping in mind the official guidelines and health and safety of players in the context of an indoor contact sport, we regret the postponement of Season 8 of PKL.”

The league was likely to be held between July and October this year but had to be postponed from its usual slot because of the coronavirus. Bengal Warriors are the reigning champions of the tournament.

The tournament is now likely to be held next year. “We will be back next year once it’s safe to resume,” the statement released by the organisers added.
