125 collisions reported to police Saturday as snow envelopes Edmonton

More than 100 collisions were reported to police Saturday while a snowfall warning remains in place for the city and surrounding area.

According to Edmonton police, between midnight and 4 p.m. a total of 125 collisions occurred across the city. Of those, 16 were hit and runs, six involved injuries and 103 caused property damage.

Police said road conditions remain poor and are reminding motorists to drive cautiously, slow down and allow extra time to reach their destinations.

Edmonton is currently under a snowfall warning and can expect 20 to 30 cm of snow through to Sunday morning.
