A look at today’s Edmonton weather by Environment Canada.
Friday morning temperatures at the Edmonton Blatchford station measured -8.0 C with 4 km/h winds out of the north, northwest with a -10 wind chill.
Much like yesterday, forecasters are calling for a chance of flurries — slight as it may be — for basically the entire day. This morning? Chance of snow. This afternoon. Chance of snow. Tonight? Chance of snow. Tomorrow? You guessed it, locusts. Wait, no. Chance of snow.
The snow isn’t likely to stick around long, though, as temperatures are expected to rebound after the weekend and head back above zero, which is technically what it’s supposed to be like at this time of the year — not that it never gets cold in October. I distinctly remember having to wear a winter jacket on top of a few Halloween costumes before going trick-or-treating as a kid. Still, it’s been abnormally chilly the past few weeks so it’s nice to get a bit of a reprieve.
