Southwest officers from the Edmonton Police Service, Leduc RCMP, the EPS tactical unit and Air 1 responded to a shooting at a home located near 173 Street and Highway 19 on Saturday.

A report came in at around 8:15 p.m. that a man had been shot by another man at the home.

When officers arrived a woman told police that the suspect could be still on the property.

Air 1 located the suspect near the home and saw that the 22-year-old suspect suffered from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Using an Armoured Rescue Vehicle, EPS tactical took an injured 65-year-old man from the home and EMS treated him and took him to hospital where he remains with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

EMS declared the suspect deceased at the scene.

The director of law enforcement was informed and directed EPS to investigate.

It’s believed the three people knew each other but are not related.
